Our Story

Local stories. Local voices. Rockingham County.

Rockingham County News was founded with a simple purpose: to keep our community informed and connected.

Based in Rockingham County, Virginia, we’re a new local news organization dedicated to covering the people, places, and decisions that shape life here. From schools and local government to small businesses and community events, we believe good local reporting starts with listening to our neighbors.

As we grow, our commitment is to accuracy, fairness, and a community that feels heard. We’re here to ask questions, celebrate achievements, and bring attention to issues that deserve a closer look.
